WITH DUNLOP SAFETY FOOTWEAR, WE’VE TAKEN THE BEST OF MODERN MATERIALS SCIENCE – PRODUCTS LIKE CARBON-FIBRE – AND MARRIED THEM WITH SPORTS CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR TECHNOLOGY TO PROVIDE LIGHTER, STRONGER, TOUGHER, DRIER AND MORE COMFORTABLE SAFETY

Q-FLEX

Q-Flex is an advanced high-performance organic fibre. It combines high strength with light weight, and comfort with protection. Products made with Q-Flex include the ropes used on the Mars Pathfinder mission, military combat helmets, police stab vests, and the cord structure at the heart of our sportscar tyres.

POLYCARBONATE

Traditionally, safety footwear incorporates steel toecaps. Nothing, it was thought, is better able to resist injuries caused by objects dropped onto a foot, or a foot becoming trapped. Nothing, that was, until polycarbonate was developed.

SYMPATEX

Few things slow a workforce down more than cold and wet. The same is true of ocean-racing yachtsmen, cold-climate explorers, and skiing holidaymakers. That’s why breathable fabrics have blossomed. Able to resist moisture penetration from the outside elements, they allow perspiration to escape, keeping the wearer dry and warm.

VIBRAM

When you want to keep a car glued to the road, you’d trust Dunlop’s heritage. When you’re talking about keeping your feet firmly on the ground, there’s a company with an equally impressive heritage. Vibram. That’s why we’re co-operating with Vibram to provide the ground interface for many of our safety boots and shoes.

CAMBRELLE

At the interface between foot and footwear, Dunlop has chosen Cambrelle linings. Cambrelle’s bi-component fibres let the lining adapt to the constant movement between foot and shoe. Countless microscopic air pockets allow air to circulate, creating a comfortable micro-climate around the foot, and helping keep feet perspiration-free. Those air pockets also add cushioning, counteracting vibrations and impacts and helping feet remain relaxed and rested. Today, Cambrelle provides comfort protection for hundreds of millions of footwear customers around the globe.

CORDURA

When you’re providing protective footwear for your workforce, you want it to last. That way, you’re protecting profits, as well as feet. That’s why, with Dunlop footwear, you’ll find the most vulnerable fabric areas are constructed with Cordura. The air-blown Nylon yarns that make up Cordura fabric are remarkably durable, yet practical and comfortable. Choosing Cordura is all part of our Light and Tough policy.

DUAL DENSITY

Dunlop safety footwear soles put dual-density polyurethane under the foot. There’s a good reason for this; keeping the wearers of our protective footwear fit, well and working.

LEATHERS

eather – it keeps cows warm, dry and comfortable for up to 20 years. That’s why we choose it as a vital component of many of our safety boots and protective shoes. Nothing can quite match the visual and tactile appeal of good leather, and few materials are as suited to footwear use – tough, comfortable, light, supportive and good-looking.

But there’s leather and leather. Dunlop chooses different styles and finishes of leather, each optimum to the use, function and style required to produce the lightest, toughest, best-looking footwear.
